Hello. Welcome to Pieceful Works. I've been making quilts for over 30 years
and I made my first teddy bear when I was about 13 years old. Fabric has been
- well, the fabric of my life.
A few hundred years ago, when the uniquely American style of patchwork
quilting was being developed, the word "piece" was used to describe the
process of sewing one piece of fabric to another to form a patchwork quilt. A
woman would not "sew" a quilt, she would "piece" it. That's what I do-- I "piece"
together fabric to create a variety of products with the hope that my "pieceful
works" will also become "peaceful works."
I make many different products: four different kinds of baby quilts, a wide variety
of teddy bears (Blankety Bears, and Bearly Saints), and special items for
adopted children (A, B, & C Quilts and Bears). You might also enjoy my ABC book, Around the Alphabet - A New Way to Look at Letters. "Fresh, creative, and fun, this book is a blast," is how one newspaper book reviewer describes it. Just click on Major for Minors and take a look!
